Insulation Products: Testing
Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland evaluates the fitness for use of our insulation materials. A typical test involves circulating hot oil through a pipe covered with insulation while measuring heat loss under simulated deepwater conditions. The results provide valuable
operating data projected for a 20-year lifetime. If the test pieces meet performance criteria, they are certified for duty at a particular ocean depth.
Cuming Corporation also uses the most extensive hydrostatic and thermal testing in the industry to assure consistent quality during manufacturing.
